This is the type of artwork I want for the MM3 tracks. Something new for Melanie's music, however still matching her vintage rococo aesthetic she's had since 2017. I think this style would go perfectly with this album's light vs. dark theme. Light, easy brush strokes telling a dark story about sirens and dragons.

I absolutely love experimental and raw Lana but I kinda miss the clean and polished sound of BTD and HM

I’m not really sure what my hopes are for this record. I’d love to see something different—I mean, I’m not expecting a full 180 (like the transition from BTD to Ultraviolence), but I would think it’s cool to see something like the segue of Honeymoon to LFL. I think she’s in a place stylistically that really suits her: more singer-songwriter and toned down, but there’s certainly a ton of variety within that subset of music! Other than that, I think I’d be cool with whatever! (Actually I think I’d enjoy a Mike Dean feature, too…just to see.)

God Knows I Tried is one of her best songs of all time, and is perhaps even in the top 3 best tracks on Honeymoon (which is difficult to rank already)

Honeymoon is a record that she could release at any point in her life and it would still read as one that represents where she’s currently at in relation to the natural process of aging and acquiring wisdom. That record is really something else — it exists in its own space independent of time and maturity. I can’t believe it’s real, and I can’t believe it was critiqued so unfairly for the longest time. It’s absolutely untouchable and I think one that best represents how deep and soulful Lana is. The lyrics, melodies, and production all do so much more than create music — it all-around transcends any constructs of what defines ‘’music” or “storytelling”. It’s just her.

Some of FJM's songs are repetitive but I'm excited for this collab. Hoping that it will be as good as his song with Weyes Blood - God's Favorite Customer. But...can we get somehow a song with Hozier in the future? Now that would be a dream come true.
