I'm fully conviced she had crack in her pen when she wrote the words "Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, ring pop, ring, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop" -

I feel like she did K&OL so dirty after those PORTALS leaks. CJ Baran's prod is kinda shit and feels less inspired to me.. Imagine how much of a better album we would've gotten with One Love as a MAIN producer like she originally intended? They truly capture her sound and production better than anyone ever will and I will always stand by that -

7 likesArcadia is basically unlistenable The lyrics are forgettable, repetitive and pointless, and the delivery is whiny The best thing about it is the actual title I feel like Clayton probably told her it was good and/or secretly co-wrote it because I find it difficult to believe that she approved it for release

it's catchy as hell and I love the production (as well as all of the Problématique album's production) but it also sounds corny to me so I guess 50/50 -
6 likesI wouldn't mind a bigger wait for the next album if we get the unreleased compilation and/or the covers album in between As for her new original material I never know what to expect from her cause Ocean Blvd was really surprising to me. It had an evolution of the post-2019 sound but it also had a lot of new elements I didn't expect at all like the use of samples, the borrowed piano melodies and specially the last 3 tracks being upbeat for her standards. I wonder if she included those cause she's heading into a more bop-ish sound or just to switch it up after the really heavy lyrical tracks. I also wonder where she goes next lyrically cause I doubt we're getting another full introspective album about her family cause I feel she said a lot of what she wanted already and while it might be therapeutic and where her mind takes her while automatic singing it has to be kinda draining too She said she was really happy about herself and her career so maybe she just wants to have fun now not necessarily as in upbeat but more conceptual and less diaristic

5 likesit’s been 2 months since her last poem, not sure if I’m glad or not… I would like to see her thrive again even if this thread seems like I don’t. her last poem was better than the first though still had flaws, and she’s always picked questionable singles so I thought this might be the case with her poetry too. I think she’s just living an LA life and trampling wildflowers and not caring (yes she said there was a patch of dirt but that was probably made by previous visitors trampling the flowers for Instagram)

4 likesTo romanticize the concept of the album, it's a casual day in the life of this singer-poet in LA, not necessarily Lana Del Rey the megastar, but really just a Los Angeles citizen witnessing the decay of the American dream... American culture and politics. It's a call out to the weak and abusive men in her life and a rather trippy insight into her mind. One could even argue that sonically it is a day-in-the-life experience, with the title track being early in the morning and Hope being her in bed just before going to sleep. Norman Fucking Rockwell! Norman Rockwell is known basically for painting the ultimate American dream imagery. "Why wait for the best when I could have you" "Can a girl just do the best she can?" "Beautful losers" "I moved to California but it's just a state of mind, it turns out everywhere you go you take yourself, that's not a lie" "Is it safe to just be who we are? / I would like to think that you would stick around" "If you hold me without hurting me, you'd be the first who ever did" "All of the guys tell me lies but you don't, you just crack another beer" "We were so obsessed with writing the next best American record" "We didn't know that we had it all, but nobody warns you before the fall / I'm facing the greatest loss of all" "You don't ever have to be stronger than you really are when you're lying in my arms" "I'm a modern day woman with a weak constitution" The lyrics really capture the feeling of a broken dream, ideal or even stereotype, and embracing that. Also the feeling or idea that everything was better before (for some short-minded people she means that America was better before, but no, she's means other more personal stuff) and things are darker now. There's just a huge "fuck it/whatever" feeling through the whole record. It also adds a certain edge that she put this out at the very end of the decade.
