I still can't believe how solid this tracklist and album is looking in general. I love that she added some of her best unreleased songs. I love that she's adding a wildcard like Dealer. I love how weird/campy yet beautiful her lyrics are. I love the album cover. I love so many things about this album so far and it hasn't even dropped yet. I'm so excited!

It's really interesting how her whole career before this album was based on "daddy issues" and whatnot, at least that's how she was always perceived by the critics due to the lyrics in her songs, yet in the opening track on this record she says "i guess you could call it text book, i was looking for the father i wanted back" - and then proceeds to change the narrative of her story by explaning her mother issues, her very real issues behind the aesthetically pleasing curtain, and then on the final track she sings with her father and is strong enough to confront the real cause of her pain throughout the years she's really changed the game

I swear to God I drunkenly DM'd Barrie when UFB leaked to tell him that he had to release Riverside and I deleted it the day after cause I was ashamed

I'm excited + nervous to finally post here after lurking for so long . This album feels so perfect to me. I love all the singles she has released so far and I can't wait to hear the rest of the album! I haven't listened to Nectar of the Gods or Living Legend so I can't wait to hear them, it will be a special listening experience

i wonder if she's gonna serve vocals in this album, because COCC was a breath of fresh air in the vocal department. white dress, wild at heart, NAWWAL and DTWD featured some of the most unique and iconic lana vocals and i would love if she experimented more of it on this record aside from the screaming masterpiece

Lana is ready to take her revenge on gays who mocked her during the last times for not liking COCC and piano ballads So she will gift us with a beautiful, sad, intense, painful and pain-killer brand new album TO SCALP US FROM HEAD TO FOOT OMG WE ARE NOT REA-

Lana and barrie leaving their differences behind after all those years and releasing their stuff, like riverside, living legend. They reached what they wanted for the ''best american record'' and they know that.. Also if you think about that, through all the songs he could chose to release, he chose the one with the chorus ''finally, im getting close to the dream'' .

Does anyone think nobody might have the album as of right now this time around, despite what the insiders want to suggest? It seems suspicious to me that the only song that leaked is one that was intended for Chemtrails at first, which might explain why some people had access to it? Also, maybe some of the crumbs of information given to us like Eclipse saying a few of the unreleased songs haven’t been reworked are just educated guesses based on the length of the songs he could have had knowledge of. Maybe there are some other proofs I’m forgetting but this era really seems more secretive for some reason and it’s keeping me on my toes!

Okay so final predictions for the sound of the new tracks... Black Bathing Suit: spaghetti western influences (The Trio preceding it) + trip hop + blues (Text Book-ish instrumentals) leading to a psychedelic bridge. Confessional lyrics; an extremely sad song despite its sexy title. Some of Lana's deepest and most bluesy vocals to date. If You Lie Down With Me: a rock/blues ballad which gets more and more aggressive as the song reaches its highest point during its euphoric climax putting the likes of UFB and Riverside to shame I fear. Beautiful: the dreamiest song on the album. Synths! And an orchestra! Arcadia's sunnier sister. Violets for Roses: the breaking point. Very jazzy and very sad. The type of song Billie Holiday would have sung. The perfect track right before Dealer. Sweet Carolina: short and sweet piano ballad with heartwarming lyrics, and a hypnotic spacey synth-based soundscape. The shorter and livelier/more optimistic sister of Blue Banisters. Lana's voice at its most ethereal. Stargirl Interlude found dead in a ditch.

Black Beauty, Brooklyn Baby, Nectar of the Gods, Living Legend, and now UFB are some of my all time favourite songs, and they were all written with Barrie, so I’m really excited to hear If You Lie Down With Me. Can’t believe we’re only 367 hours and 17 minutes away!

Our first unknown/original album closure track we'll have ever since Lust for Life era - I just know Sweet Carolina will serve an instant classic energy just like "Get Free" did

The version we have has probally recorded in a basement... we will get the HD version for the first time

I like the gesture, because back then the discussion wasn't about the music it was about her so called persona and her authenticy, or alleged lack thereof—there was actually very little substance surrounding the music in these reviews (and even reading that re-review it's like "hEr AlTeR eGO!!!1!"). But idc about this, it's disingenuous as fuck.

7.8 is a fair score for a 10 years later review considering that a lot of it sounds very of it’s time, which can be a good thing but Lolita, DMD, Million Dollar Man and maybe even NA just didn’t age well at all . NA demo >> tbh it shocks me how little i listen to this album now i used to play it for hours each day

I listened to chemtrails right when it leaked, I remember I was feeling so icky about it but I couldn't stop myself also I was doing my make up because I had to go out so I was kind of all over the place, half paying atenttion half hurrying the fuck up. I regret my first experience with COCC so I'm gonna do it right with BB. I'll wait until midnight, turn off all the lights in my bedroom, smoke a joint and listen to it while looking out of my window enjoying the lovely spring night! (south hemisphere where I am) Can't waittt

i've kind of been in a fog these past few weeks so it really feels like the album is creeping up on me now! two weeks, damn. still the most excited for violets for roses (if it really does "sound like a COCC outtake" i will be stoked) & if you lay down with me, since i've been loving UFB so much. rob's post got me excited about sweet carolina too though it also have the vibe of the most random shit in the world...i'm sure it will be beautiful tho. i want magazines/interviews/cute merch for the album release but more than anything i want tour dates! she's never not toured an album (except for COCC bc covid) so i'm holding out hope that at the very least we'll get some summer festival dates.
