18 likesI know people around here act as if it was super cewl n edgy and a sign of advanced artistry, but that's just what happens if you don't do nothing beyond the album itself. Most indie artists with a much smaller target-audience put more effort into their promotion, and it's not like music videos, performancea and photoshoots are just marketing - it's also a way to artistically express urself. Lana herself used to absolutely rule this aspect of visual artistry, no matter if it was about big budget stuff like Blue Jeans or her homemade videos during ger Lizzie-era. Now most she does in this department seems uninspired and halfassed. Noone but fans who force themselves to like it care for content like the BB-mv, that NFR/B/HIAB thing or the LMLYLAW performance. I'm not saying she should force herself to do something she doesn't want to, but it's not suprising that the attention for her output sinks when she obviously doesn't care. And that decay of visual quality is not "niche". Lana just does not care about it anymore. It's fine, but let's not overglamourize it. A lot of small "niche" artists who really want to create something beautiful to accompany their music manage to do with a much lower budget. Because they actually burn for it. Lana is past that point, and with both herself and her fanbase taking her way too serious, she now does things like the BB-video or the CoCC-cover.

9 likesI get what you mean and I somewhat agree with some parts of what you‘ve said. But I‘m not sure if Lana „doesnt burn for it“ (her music? her artistry? or what do you mean?) anymore. Obviously only Lana knows why she‘s not doing a lot of promo anymore. But if I had to put myself in her shoes, I would honestly do the same. I‘m so thankful that my work gets evaluated by its quality and that I dont have to do promo in order to make it more accepted. Going to talkshows, doing high budget music videos, interviews, photoshoots and all that stuff won’t make your music any better and I’m sure it doesn’t feel satisfying at all. People ask superficial questions or end up talking about your hair and nails. I would get tired of it, especially after being in the music business for more than ten years. I always wondered why Lana was sceptical with the praise NFR got until she said in that (now infamous) BBC interview that she’s happy about the positive response, but that she wished that critics and the media would actually review the music itself. The best way to do that is by having no or almost no promo.

7 likesI just wanted to say. i think that she's just so god damn SMART/INTELLIGENT etc. there's something so wholesome about how her records always manage to grow and push past the previous record. the GROWTH is just real inspiring to watch. and i know that it's like so far off, but knowing she's a fellow water sign/rising, it just kinda makes me feel less alone cus she probably gets it emotionally

more glory album photoshoot pics. She was ready to give us a full blown era and they went with a screenshot for the album cover. This also confirms the rumors about her wanting to be being chained to the house for the album cover. -

It’s the first day of the rest of her life and I couldn’t be happier for her. Her resilience and courage is so inspiring. I’m excited to see what she’s going to do next even if it’s just retiring -

Can't stop listening to these songs, they're so gorgeous sonically and I love the lyrics. Hope she doesn't change/scrap too much when MM3 finally comes. It's sad her stuff leaks so much Obviously they mean a lot to her but I wish she'd ditch the movies so she could release the music quicker -
6 likesWhat even is the point in this post besides dragging Adele and Taylor? I’m tired of people acting like popular artists can’t make good music just because they are popular. And Lana stans always act like she’s some underground artist when she’s not Born To Die is one of the best selling albums of all time, nearly every album of hers has over a billion streams, she’s been receiving way more critical acclaim lately, and Dealer is going viral on social media. It’s just childish. You can say Lana deserves more praise and support without dragging two other talented women that constantly uplift Lana

I thought solar power would've grown on me more by now but with time I started liking it less. I don't think it's a terrible album, I'd still put it on as background noise, but it's just so bland. Especially when you compare it to her last 2 albums. Like, it really has nothing going for it. I remember listening to it for the first time being so excited about the bridge of Fallen Fruit cause it had a beat lol, that's so sad. The Path also started out beautifully, an amazing way to start an album, but then halfway through the song just turns into Herbalife the musical.. I didn't expect her to top Melodrama, but I just expected more. & People can go on and on with their "this is a weed album, it's meant to be boring. you can't relate to it cause it's happy. your brain is too small to understand that acoustic guitar is far superior than synths!" but that really won't make the album any less boring lol. Going from an album as good as Melodrama to this is just tragic. Solar Power was a big disappointment. -
4 likesI know w the older tracks that leaked there's a lot of like controversy/ mult. perspectives on it but personally? It's like when ur journalling and you have all these things written and just need to piece things together, and for me, that shows consistency of like thought, feelings and themes and I think the older tracks fit in so well w the rest of the album.

i think lana can and will top NFR! someday (and yes some people believe she has and blablabla but i'm talking critical and GP reception, the general consensus atm is that it's her best album) -

I just think its crazy how the #FreeBritney movement was basically at a standstill for so long and all it took was a Netflix documentary to get the gp to care ive been following the movement since 2019 and it seems like nothing was happening till that movie came out but anyway that doesn't matter anymore cause SHE IS FREEE im just happy she's able to live the legendary retired popstar life she wants to live now she's done so much for the music industry she deserves to live the rest of her life in peace <3 -

I really haven’t followed Taylor very closely since Speak Now and Red but I did revisit this version and I must say it is a breath of fresh air and nostalgia. I’m really looking forward to a TV Speak Now. That will always be my fave TS album so very interested to see how a redone version with unreleased tracks will be. Taylor truly is a magical artist when you think about her growth and development. Personally for me she went in a direction that I just wasn’t as invested in with her releases after Red but you cannot deny her catalog and the talent/drive she exhibits and exudes. -

I'm not a huge Taylor stan but the 10 minute version of "All too well" is really awesome! It's not easy to make a song that long that doesn't bore you but she managed to do it easily. -

i never go to shows, but i impulse bought a ticket to her show in boston b/c it is on 4/20 and that just sounds like an amazing serendipity. i last saw charli back in 2013 in dc after she first released true romance, so it's going to feel very full circle to see her after crash comes out. i was a shy lil teenager when i saw her last, and now i'm realizing myself, so seeing her on a special day in the city i've transplanted myself to is gonna be magical :`) <3 -

3 likesi had a dream last night I was hanging out w Lana and we were at a random store and she was buying like every tiny plush animal toy she could find and I was like “what are you even going to do with these……” and she’s like “I don’t know!!! But I want them all!!!” then we laughed about her being rich, even tho these toys couldn’t have been more than $3 each

Whole album is forgettable as fuck for me. So sad because Lorde’s lyricism usually pinches a unique nerve in my heart. Meh. leak the melodrama interludes -
3 likesI actually think it was her testimony about her IUD and stuff that really pushed it into the public eye. After the documentary, I think most people were more angry at how Justin and the media treated her than the conservatorship itself

‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ breaks the record for biggest debut streams for a female album, the record previously being held by Taylor’s own ‘folklore’. It debuted with 90 MILLION streams in its first 24 hrs. The most streamed song - All Too Well (Ten Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault) - debuted with 6.6 MILLION streams and placed #1 on the Spotify Global chart. -

Who said yes to that chipmunk WEEEE 😭 All Too Well has been my #1 favorite song for the past 9 years so I was afraid I would never be able to get attached to the new version but it just clicked with me and I’m feeling so emotional right now. She nailed the bridge (Heyyyyyy you called me - this line 😭). The 10 min version is such a serve. I get teary everytime the first new verse kicks in. -
