I've been constantly thinking about this particular line from "Old Money" "Will you still love me when I shine from words but not from beauty?" I came to realize that Lana actually foreshadowed whats to come - a turning point for herself since NFR until now. The way she leaves that glamourous lifestyle, fashion, face, body, etc. Dont get me wrong, she is still a beautiful woman right now, but we can see Lana has toned her outer side, the "look" down through times, she's now giving more of natural simple life woman beauty, not glamourous celebrity type of beauty - The kind of beauty that you have to take a deep look spiritually, not just a "look". It shows now that she is the kind of woman whos happy in the background of a photo and lets her friends shine, dont even care if the picture got her right angle or not (she even said this herself on an ig caption of a pic with Nikki as i remember). This also shows us her music & sound direction as well: More about the realness of lyrics, instead of big, expensive production that we love from "Honeymoon" or "Born To Die". I can see she really wants to let the beauty of words shine, not the beauty of the production à la LDR9 was dubbed as a "conversational" / "wordy" album that she doesnt even describe it as a particular tone of color. And we can see after L4L era, she is more showing off her thoughts, her words, her points of view & her poetry. Hence "my life is my poetry, my love-making is my legacy" - Lana is just doing what she has said. Lana does not change, she is more who she is than ever. So I dont care what anyone might doubt about LDR9 direction - I entrust my faith & love in her vision for this upcoming project. Because if its Lana, it just cant be less than greatness.

Hello beautiful people! I shaterred my phone and forgot my password, so I'm a lil late to the party. Okay, so I agree that DF ia kinda bland. I had such high expectations. Someone said that too much is happening and I fully agree, so much is happening that no part truly stands out. When you listen to synth classics by Depeche Mode, it's either the guitar or the synths being the main focus depending on the song. Also, the entire chorus is ironically forgettable. Someone also mentioned One. I listened it a couple of days ago when DF was released and boyyy it's bad. I loved that kind of generic pop in the early 2010s but I couldn't imagine liking that song even back then. No wonder it flopped, it sounds like those knock off songs you hear at clothing stores lmao.

I really want this album to have lots of yelling, something similar to Noir, Dealer, and True Love on the Side. (Or she could do a complete 180 from that, and have a sort of lush Young and Beautiful-esque sound, she did mention orchestral sounds!)

The whole album is hypnotic if you give it a chance. I was just as happy to see Lana utilizing Morricone as I was seeing her tap Nino Rota's 'Romeo & Juliet' theme for 'Old Money,' one of my favorites of hers. I wasn't particularly happy with BB's use of 'The Trio,' but it's good to know she's listening to and aware of Morricone and his vast catalog of work.

I’ll join in the delusion. You know, I still find it strange that Lana’s management publicly shared a fan theory about a double release. We never got a clarification for that. What if there is/was a side-project she intended to go alongside Blue Banisters that she decided to save? What if that explains Kali Uchis saying Lana reached out to her for a collab, Lana’s team sending a song to Pusha T, and Lana saying she wants to work with Migos. Maybe Interlude - The Trio was an easter egg or even a scrapped piece from a hip-hop-inspired EP (she did say she’d love a digital release, too). Just a thought..

I can understand why some people think there are fillers, because the vibe of some of the songs is a bit monotone and repetative. But because NTMT was 100% a sound I loved completely, I love every single song without failure. From the B-Sides too. In fact it was so solid that I've found I've never really wanted a NTMT 2.0, because I got everything I wanted already

I still find it weird that she didn't release the covers album. She thought it would be ready by Christmas (2020) and it didn't happen but she also uploaded a picture in front of Capitol Records saying she was finishing it some months (?) later so I assume an album already exists in some form. Sometimes I wish she would just release all her side projects at once so she's not carrying them over and over through the years but at the same time I like thinking she has something stored for when we get an inevitable original album drought

From what we heard Descending is the superior song... the production is dark fuzzy noisy and alternative but very captivating, the chorus is great, it's sounds perfect... She literally starts the song saying "They missed their tortured little girl" like imagine emerging after 9 years this being the first words of your lead single it would be so iconic. When you're not the one dropped i didn't liked it, thought it was too indiepop 2013 for me, but in like a week i was obsessed, i still think it pales in comparison with other commercial songs on the album like i blame myself and love in stereo. 24 hours should've been the lead single and it probably would have been bigger... in the end we can ask what could've been but it's not our decision to make, heck i don't even know if the decision is in her hands.
