22 likesLana's never going to fade into obscurity, she's already established herself as an icon. And with the way she consistently releases quality art that pushes her creativity further, she will be a legend long past her lifetime. She's one of the few artists today that will last forever, regardless of whether or not she releases mainstream hits.

20 likesI’ve never a seen a discussion thread about a singer writing too much about her life experiences with the people she surrounds herself with she literally says she’s telling HER story, which includes her friends and family? But that makes it hollow and “reduces” the song hsjsdbjsndnnsndnndkkxkfksoad your brain is doing jumping jacks, only on Lanaboards, fun to read tho

19 likesalso sorry to chime in, pls nobody get mad at me. but im thinking she mostly hid the songs from the locals so that her core fanbase would mostly be the ones listening. Shes probably hoping we already know of the ppl shes namedropping. So shes also probably hoping that we care about them because they are important to her and she cares about them. if that makes any sense. but ofc everyone is free to like/dislike whatever they want.

18 likesguys. i did some investigation on BOZ last.fm page and he streamed 3 untitled and untagged albums. two of them have acronyms as titles of the songs and one has numbers (1 to 14). They're signed as Artist 2, 4 and 5. Since and apparently he has the album, let me show u the acronyms. Artist 2: LG P SLAH UBTMH U A SG BOTG X HFAGT LMDS SR BOTG2 LC WUB IAW ARTIST 4: numbers to 14 ARTIS 5: GWHSI POMM H DAD IK FMM LAW G DAP A IYFIL as we can see, none of the acronyms is BB, TB or WW, so my guess is, if boz really has the album, it can be the untitled tracks one. Or he did know the tracks were dropping and he didn't play it as a whole for us to not understand. what do u think?

18 likesLana has ALWAYS name dropped in almost all of her older songs, just because you guys don't know who were she talking about, it doesn't mean they weren't real people, so I don't really see why does it bother you now? I mean, I personally think it's corny, and I never liked it, but it's not like Lana started doing this in the recent songs? I'm used to it by now

17 likesI’m glad people are enjoying Text Book even if it is the most “controversial.” The problem that I envision in my head is that the minute someone ‘screws up’ in society’s eyes, it’s really hard to make a comeback from that. Practically translated: ever since QFTC people are finding something wrong with every single little thing that she does. So in my mind the idea that Text Book is killing it means that the music is speaking for itself (even if it contains something controversial) and that’s probably Lana’s end goal. Let the music shine girlies

17 likeshope we get more beautiful beautiful beautiful lyrics like "cause there's a man that's in my past, there's a man that's still right here, he's real enough to touch, in my darkest nights, he's shining" "summer comes, winter goes, spring i skip heaven knows... summer comes, winter goes, spring i sleep heaven knows"

16 likesThe likes of Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, and St. Vincent just to name a few Aside from making it personal and imo giving the songs a classic twang - I'd argue that the context of #that lyric paired with the rest of the things she mentions in that verse fit so perfectly. She basically mentions the good things that are happening around her: her "banisters" being painted green and grey that allude to her being in a lively but still neutral ascending state (hence the banisters metaphor), her dogs playing around, chuck baking a birthday cake and a baby on the way (all positive good happy whatever things) just goes to show how the people or things that you surround yourself with really affects you: and she ends that verse with the realization that her blue banisters are green and grey now. That's spectacular lyricism if you ask me...

16 likesWow Ben is defending Dua publicly for just 1 article. Lmao . Where was he when Lana was being trashed all over the world??? She should just quit and find better managers. Even though I know she is super comfortable with them and really close buddies.

15 likesi feel like there's intention behind the single covers wildflower wildfire & text book, both songs about having troubled relationships with her parents, and how it's affected her, her face is slightly distorted in both covers, her face looks slightly vacant because of the distortion, and there's "bruises" on her chest, the background is blurry and distorted, the covers themselves look more lq, the cover for text book is blue & cold, the cover for wildflower wildfire is more colorful blue banisters, a song celebrating the women in her life who have helped her... her face is not distorted, her face is not "vacant" looking, her skin is rosier and there's no bruises, the image looks clear, and there's a glowing full-moon behind her, the moon symbolizes femininity obviously they're still very strange single covers and they aren't necessarily good looking objectively, but i really like how they're slightly intentional, i'm not saying everybody should love them, or even enjoy them at all, because i'm aware they're still... picsart edits but you could also say that was intentional, since they're more raw and less professional

15 likesI think this is specifically true about Wildflower Wildfire. The more I listen to it the more I realize how personal that track is. The first couple times i heard it i didn't care so much for it but now it makes me tear up, i actually love that song. Which I can say is the first time a LDR song made me feel that way in years Then again, she was trending with over 80k tweets the day the songs dropped. So who knows, maybe she was testing to show her management that she doesn't have to do much, all she has to do is drop songs and albums. That could've also been a test phase for a surprise album release like shes said she wanted to do in the past.

15 likesHonestly some of you are so damn sensitive to any Lana criticism. As far as I'm concerned, Rorman is being pretty respectful in their opinions. Not everyone has to like what Lana does. Sorry if you can't handle that but for the love of God, grow some thicker skin. Expecting everyone to love every single aspect of her songs but shunning people for going against the grain is fucking cult-like behaviour

15 likesI don't mind the name dropping but I kinda hate how she felt the need to mention Nikki Lane by her full name, that was so weird to me like just say Nikki why make it so direct sdfjh. The COCC cover is awful obvs but her friends were serving in the vid and it fit the context of the song so I don't really mind her involving her friends in her art since it's mostly about her life & they're a big part of her life. As long as it's done well and isn't just awful and offensive like the COCC cover.

15 likesWell it is a Lana forum so there is always going to be a bias... but really Lanas at a peak? Jesus Christ this is why she phoned all her live performances in, because she knows y’all will buy anything-Its difficult to support her as an artist as of late when she has reached parody status-Marina will deliver quality and the rest can seethe.
-
15 likesThe „For just 1 article“ in question: I think, it would be absolutely fucked up to not defend her?? Lana brought it on herself with QftC: she choose to publish it the way she did, please. You can’t really compare these situations … jesus

15 likesI just know she was laughing her ass off when she submitted those covers for the single

15 likesThe singles reopened a lot of pain and hurt and it culminated in an awful nightmare about my ex I‘m officially scared for my soul with this album. My contribution to the cover discussion, could be as small as a meme:

15 likesAgreed. I think it's pretty clear what she's doing at this point and that it's not just her being lazy. The media has been brutal to her for her whole career and she has been very vocal about that and her desire for revenge. She looks so fed up on the cover, like she's just staring at the camera and thinking about all the shit she's been unfairly put through, and she's not going to accept it any longer. Of course she knew how people reacted when she first posted that cover, and then she proceeded to use the exact same image for all 3 singles, and hasn't said a word about it aside from briefly posting on Instagram and then deleting. I think she knows exactly what she's doing and this is all a part of her revenge. I personally think it's fascinating, especially given how brilliant the music is so far. Three of the best songs of her career and releasing them all together was a genius move. I'm surprised there isn't more press on the music but I wouldn't be surprised if the media is a little anxious about how to deal with her right now. Can't wait to see what comes next.

15 likesYou can call the cover(s) bad, but you can't call them lazy. These are deliberate, and you don't have to like them (and lots of people don't), but I think she's definitely proving something by generating the comments she is. She's just released the three most personal songs of her career, after a decade of being accused of being a persona, a fake, an industry plant, someone whose career was bought by her father, inauthentic, etc etc. The decaying photographs, in series, work like a Warhol sequence, which are also 'basic' and 'fake', but in a deliberate way.
