As far as I know she only bought the rights to the whole thing to be able to get it out from the market asap and rebrand herself, with no intenion of ever touching the material again, which is understandable since she recorded this bak in 2007 and 5 Points shelved it until 2010, the good sis did a full 180° musically and was turning into a full time pop princess by the time LDR got released. I think the re-release rumours came from Les Inrock interview back in 2012: Among these new songs, you chose to revive Yayo, one of the songs of your 2010 album under the name of Lizzy Grant. Will this album ever be re-released? Like I did for Yayo, I would like to redo certain songs like Kill Kill and Mermaid Motel. They mean a lot to me, they are the most autobiographical out of all the songs, my sprees to Coney Island … But I don’t like their production, I can’t re-release them as they are. I recorded them 6 years ago, an eternity… Yayo was a fundamental moment in my life, a trigger, my first video. So I guess she loved the songs but not exactly how they sounded (I think it's not the first time she has shared those opinions?), she also talked about how displeased she was about the final version of TIWMUG lol

For me, IYLDWM is Lana’s sexiest and most sensual song. That she doesn’t overdo it makes it perfect.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I think it's a cute song (melody/lyrically wise) but I hate the production (would have been better if it was either piano only or a rock song) and it definitely did NOT deserve a spot on the album when there were better songs that were considered such as Fine China, Wild One or even I Talk to Jesus

I really don’t follow any artists as closely as I do as Charli, but can we appreciate the fact that stems for an unreleased album have leaked? It’s literally insane when you consider artists like Britney have albums like Original Doll that still remain such a mystery

If it was any other artist I'm sure they will be already rushing a MV (or even a lyric video for the meantime) but I don't think Lana cares or that her managers and label have the power to make her shoot a video for it. She probably has a 2/3 MV per album cycle contract and anything beyond that it's just Lana's preference. For better or worse at this point she is way above the music industry game. We won't get that much content alongside her albums but at least we know she's not bound to having a hit to be able pump out records anytime she wants. I'd love a video for Dealer but if we get anything it would be one for IYLDWM (lowkey my favourite from the album so I'm not complaining)

To give an answer to @YourGirl666's question about AKA outtakes, I don't think there *is* an answer. It's definitely fun to speculate about what might've been considered for the album, but in the absence of any provisional tracklists or confirmation from Lana (+collaborators) on the subject, the best we can do is look at what she was recording in that era and speculate. For example, we can definitely call "Loved You Then and Now" a COTCC outtake, because it appeared on an early tracklist for the album -- it was undoubtedly considered for the album, and just didn't make the cut. However, we can't say with certainty that "Pin Up Galore" was ever seriously considered for AKA -- sure, it was recorded with an important player in the AKA sessions in the same timeframe, and was even performed live alongside album tracks, but there's no proof that Lizzy ever considered putting it on the album. Lana's creative process just didn't seem to be overwhelmingly album-focused, this early in her career -- there's so much unreleased material pre-2011 that she couldn't have possibly intended it all for a specific project; she was just recording as songs came to her, and would eventually draw upon that back catalogue (or not) when it was time to assemble an album. She had the means to record on a whim, and platforms like Myspace and Reverbnation similarly gave her a platform to release music without tethering it to a larger project. So, to put it simply, nothing can really be called an "outtake" unless we have some kind of documentation to prove it. Lana is way too mercurial, especially with her tracklists, to call anything of that nature definite without some explicit word on the matter. That's why I listed ALL the songs she did with Mertens and Kahne in the OP -- there's definitely some she seemed to like more, but any of them were just as likely as others to have been considered, given the way she changes her mind (and tracklists) on a whim. Honestly, I'm really surprised that no songs were added or subtracted between AKA's recording in '07 and its release in '10, and I wouldn't be surprised if the only reason it DIDN'T happen is because Lana didn't have quite the level of creative control then that she'd gain later! Thinking about the alt-timeline AKA with Hundred Dollar Bill on it

Ok I will share a theory about Blue Banisters and Cherry Blossom, it is most likely a reach and it is a bit sensitive subject but here's the deal:

Cherry Blossom is as perfect as it i but i just wish she added a little bit of nature ambient sounds in the background of the piano like birds chirping, the wind and stuff.

That's not what I rlly meant.. Those songs feel much more deeper than the rest of her music which is something K-12 and possibly her new album are lacking. It made listening to her music feel much more personal and gave it a certain charm. I hate to admit it but Cry Baby would've been a much less interesting album without songs like Mrs. Potato Head on it. She's more than capable of doing it without connecting it to childish themes as well, so why not? That's just how I feel tho

This album was made for vinyl. I'm listening to my copy right now and it just sounds so much better than it does when I listen off my phone or laptop. I wonder if Lana had ever considered releasing the album physically before it was released and pulled from iTunes (most likely not, but still a fun thought to entertain).

i love that u added delulu to the title accordingly, i will be manifesting lana goes absolutely nuts on LDR9 and releases an album with the most provocative absurdist giallo-inspired expressionist avante garde nosferatu vampiric chantilly lace catching on the chandelier bad jazz singer giving u the finger mermaid motel (AKA version) vibes produced by david kahne, goblin, and david lynch

I don't think she's rerecorded it, but I think she's listened to it on her own more than we might think, especially in the past year or so. I'm still not over that random Pawn Shop Blues video.

LFL (album) would sound amazing if she didn't use a paper between her mouth and mic, it just cheapens the whole thing, doesn't add any "future retro" aesthetic or whatever it she was going for. It's sad becaus emost of the production really shines through on that album, it would sound 100% better with crystal clear vocals.

i think diet mountain dew would've been way better if it sounded more like the third demo, a little bit more chill & vibey, it's my favorite version of that song i feel like a lot could be said for lust for life songs, i think if the entire album in general had a different sound & vibe it would've been a lot better, but especially the album version of lust for life compared to the very first demo version, or if bpbp didn't have the feature, no disrespect to stevie nicks at all, but i would've prefered it solo, i'm not a huge fan of lana's collabs
