20 likesWoke up to the news of this by my friend shaking me awake at 11am to tell me, and my stomach has been in knots ever since. Been feeling very nauseous and unsettled all day, and I’m still having a hard time grasping the reality. What a terrifying time, and I fear this is only the beginning of a backwards, downwards spiral x

16 likesI can't take seriously the same people who think that free healthcare is communism and that they "don't want to pay other people's medical bills". I don't blame them 100%, that's what generations of propaganda does. The tax money that should've gone into heathcare goes into their military that destroys other countries. Also my parents and grandparents grew up during the big bad communism and got free apartments that aren't made of cardboard and still are of better quality than the fancy glass ones. But I guess we're more free for not being able to afford any roof over our heads without draining ourselves into debt until the age of 60. Also, my boyfriend is pro-life and when I brought up the rape and the life risk argument he left me on read. Like dude, if your mom was at that situation what would you say? So selfish. Do they think life starts at ejaculation or erection?

15 likesToday has been such a sad and disheartening day. I fear for not only myself, but for all those in this country who have now been stripped of their bodily autonomy and a basic human right. However, I do not want to allow myself to give up this fight because this is something completely, bone-chillingly horrifying. Fuck anyone and everyone celebrating that "life won" today because no it fucking didn't. Life lost today, if anything. The lives of all the people who will die in childbirth lost. The lives of the people who will die or be injured in an unsafe abortion procedure because they can't get one anywhere else lost. The lives of the children who will be put into the adoption and foster care system lost. The lives of the people who weren't ready for children lost. Nobody wins in this situation except for those who want to have complete power and control over anyone with a uterus in this country.

13 likesher saying the album is angry is interesting cause anger isn't something i feel like she expresses too much in her songs i feel like certain parts of Ultraviolence could be described as "angry"...fucked my way, money power glory...errr....thats kind of it, but i feel like shes showing anger at the media in those. in my feelings, dealer, cinnamon girl....those lyrically show someone pissed off but generally, i feel like she's often sad but rarely angry, so it could be interesting to hear that edit: OH cruel world is definitely angry as well

12 likesI don't really know what to say at this point. I'm just fucking pissed off still. I woke up mad for the women who can't do what they want. Whose rights were taken away and laws were put in place automatically as soon as Roe was overturned. Womens rights were just aborted and nobody can do anything except vote???? Fucking bullshit I just want to watch the country burn at this point. I hope women and everyone understand that this should be the final straw. This should be it. We stopped protesting against police brutality and it still happens. We stopped doing anything and now they feel like they can do anything they want. Biden wants peaceful protests but protesting clearly doesn't do it anymore. We need a French Revolution style situation. The government doesn't work anymore. It's a fucking shit show ran by extremists and I'd be willing to bet that little Bitch Mcconnell had his hands in this decision. I'm just disappointed and angry and frustrated. I fucking hate it here.

Charli XCX
lightning tears and 10 others liked a post in a topic by OverYourHead
She seems so unsure when she references True Romance, like babe we LOVE it don’t worry, I was so sick I almost bailed on the whole thing but I managed it to do the first show and I’m so glad I pulled through because it was such an iconic show, unexpected absolute bop to see live was Need Ur Luv everyone loved it and the floor almost gave way during I Got It she was losing her mind, was sad she didn’t do any of XCX world, not even GNO or No Angel but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose as cool as it is to see Charli with dancers, doing choreo and having a big set on the crash tour, nothing comes close to the energy she has when it’s just her on stage in a smaller venue, to this day one of the best shows I’ve ever been to (maybe THE best show I’ve ever been to) was the London Pop 2 show with Sophie, AG, Hannah, Rina, Tommy, Dorian & Raye in that tiny little venue in Shoreditch, that show is unmatched imo, the way she conducts an audience is amazing to experience every time -
11 likesThe amount of babies who are probably gonna be left on the streets to die a more painful death than if they were aborted.... I know for a fact things like Trans rights, Gay rights, Interracial Couples, Black Rights, POC rights in general, of course women's rights, and any "progress" we've made in the last 20 - 50 years are all at stake right now. The US is literally becoming a third world country at this point.

9 likesnot this.. i'm not religious but i went with a friend to their church a few weeks ago and i was reminded of why i'm not religious.. they invited every woman in the church who has had an abortion to raise their hands and come to the front of the church so everyone could "pray for them" and they had them publicly ask for "forgiveness" for their "sin".. it's absolutely atrocious i felt so terrible for them.. i asked my friend if they do that a lot and he said they've prayed for someone to overcome their "homosexual tendencies" and that is why i am not religious bc wtf 😭 well officially, the supreme court is not meant to be political, it is meant to ensure equal justice under the law by ruling on the highest level regarding all constitutional disputes. the rulings, at least on paper, cannot be partisan and its rulings must be based on the law and the law only. now remember that's just what it's officially meant to be. in reality, it's political, always has been political, and always will be political, because it's america and the supreme court is always going to have a majority of justices on one side or the other with some sort of agenda. for example, the justices that president roosevelt appointed shared his view on on the expanding of federal power, "conveniently" lining up with his new deal regulatory reforms. and the justices that nixon appointed "conveniently" shared his "tough on crime" policy views. the supreme court has always been this way and it will always be this way because the polarized and partisan nature of our politics and society is ingrained into both americans and our laws/institutions. and the justices do not necessarily "govern"; they cannot write or pass laws. what they do is take the inalienable laws/rights we do have (in the constitution), and interpret and establish its applications in different situations, setting legal precedent going forward. Roe v. Wade was one of these legal precedents set forward long ago, and by overturning it, the court established that our constitution does not protect the legal right to an abortion. they aren't outlawing abortion which is a popular misconception, they're just saying the constitution doesn't protect it (which it does imo)

9 likesUnfortunately it’s a state by state issue and majority of states have more republicans representing local government than democrats, Trump made sure of that before he got booted. Democrats are being out voted all over the place on this because there aren’t as many of them in governing seats. It’s so frustrating. Americans will need to be the ones voting out republicans from each state in the upcoming Novembers state elections. If people want to see this shit show end, it’s up to them really pushing with votes. The thing is, women aren’t a minority like gays or trans people, they make up over half of America’s population. If women want to vote and completely destroy republican representation across states by joining forces, they can, they have the numbers. I’m hoping this idiotic decision ends up shooting republicans in the foot. It’s easy to bully a minority, good luck pissing of 100 million women in your own country.

8 likes⬆️❗️ Before I started my current job I worked in a super conservative part of America. Some of the things I’d hear the women say were just so backwards, it was like living in an alternate reality. In addition to their strong abortion ban stances I remember them saying “I don’t want to think for myself, the husband is the head of the household and he’ll make my decisions for me. I just want to stay home and be the perfect housewife to please my man.” Not to mention their attitudes toward reproduction and reproductive health: “I don’t believe in condoms, if the good Lord wants me to have 9 children then it is His will” Ofc they didn’t have the incomes to support their children either. The list goes on and on.mp3 Anyway, I do agree that women aren’t a minority group but there are a staggering number of conservative thinkers who are similarly aligned. We really need to turn up at the polls this year because a lot of people stayed home for Hillary in 2016. I’m not saying she was the best candidate but we could have had a better shot had people been more motivated. I truly hope this is a big wake up call for folks…

8 likestbh i don't really hear cruel world, MPG, or FMWUTTT as angry, she just seems sort of like fed up about whatever she's singing about and the songs come off more as like ironic mocking (MPG and FMWUTTT) or sad (cruel world). songs in lana's released discography that lyrically come across as "angry" to me are dealer (she said in her insta live that she was "furious" in that song), cherry, high by the beach, 24, wait for life, i can fly, and thunder

8 likesJust woke up to this fucking outrageous news. Reading thru the opinion now and it’s already so wild claiming abortion has not been part of the US’ deeply rooted history/traditions… fuck originalists, abortion was literally allowed in colonial states before “quickening” (2nd tri) and not criminalised until the 19th c

7 likesI'm from Eastern Europe and terrified that this will motivate pro-lifers to do something here. Abortions are legal since the 50s and people don't really care about abortions here but everything's possible with enough of propaganda. As for banning abortions, they should really see Romania's history and how many children had suffered in orphanages and how many women had died. Actually, who gives a shit about children once they're born, it's all about controlling women. I don't see any law that controls men but men have the audacity to complain about child support. Sorry this is all over place, I'm just irritated by how people can be vile. The meni behind this campaign would probably pay their mistress to have an abortion.

7 likesthe overturning of Roe v. Wade doesn't necessarily mean that decisions like Obergefell (legal right to gay marriage) are in immediate danger bc the ruling explicitly regards abortion and doesn't set any sort of legal precedent. but what it definitely does do is give conservative states that are anti-LGBT the "confidence", so to say, to go even further regarding restrictions on the 14th amendment and it's guarantee of privacy and the things that fall under it such as gay marriage, abortion, birthright citizenship, etc. it's important to note though that Roe v. Wade was able to be overturned mainly due to a dispute regarding the due process clause of the 14th amendment, and if gay marriage/interracial marriage were to be overturned, it would have to be regarding the equal protections under the law clause of the 14th amendment which is not in dispute among the justices regardless, i'm genuinely shocked that the supreme court actually overturned Roe. it's fucked up and a huge step back for america.. justice alito is so dumb as well like he opens his opinion with, and i QUOTE, "for the first 185 years after the adoption of the constitution, each state was permitted to address this issue (abortion) in accordance with the VIEWS OF ITS CITIZENS". there is not ONE single state where more than 30% of its citizens support the overturning of Roe v Wade.. NOT ONE. the whole thing is absurd and disgusting i also want to say that the supreme court as a whole has been really fucked up this year and people haven't really been noticing. it didn't get much news coverage but this week they ruled that suspects who are not warned about their right to remain silent (Miranda rights) cannot sue a police officer for damages under federal civil rights law EVEN IF the evidence they say is used against them in court. that's a HUGE step back for americans and our rights against self-incrimination. not being able to sue police for violating the rights guaranteed to us under Miranda opens up a whole new can of worms and imo encourages police to be coercive in obtaining false statements and confessions. the supreme court has really been fucking up and setting us back in more ways than one. very disheartening day for this country

7 likesdont care. anyone who celebrates women losing the rights to their bodies is an idiot. couldnt give less of a shit. they don’t actually care about the baby. if they did, they wouldve done their best to solve formula shortages and kids getting shot at school. its disgusting. all they care about is taking away rights from women.

6 likesWell there’s nothing to talk about lol As long as she doesn’t post anything, it will stay that way apparently. And with the recent news about the right to abortion being overturned, I don’t expect her to post in the next days anything that is not on that subject (and rightfully so: with COCC, she updated us on election night and some media said it was a weird move and maybe not the best timing; I can’t imagine if she announced LDR9 how much backlash she’d get…)

Radio Silence is a really good song and the lyrics and message are so important. But I also wouldn't mind a disco album tbh. Zella nails disco everytime and I'd love something upbeat that puts you in a good mood (for once). -

6 likesi feel scared that they aren’t going to stop here, in my state, it seems like abortion will still be legal, but what if they take away access to birth control? what if they go as far as reversing the right to gay marriage? interracial marriage? we just simply can’t go back, this is so scary to think they were more progressive about the issue in the 70s, apparently…

It’s so she can gain the most traction promoting it this summer at all the festivals she has lined up. No One Dies from Love is just being sent to US radios. She is dropping another 2-3 songs before the album. I’m just waiting for her to announce a tour now. -

5 likesthis should be a public health emergency, all this will lead to is more deaths from dangerous pregnancy complications, children being abused, sent to the foster care system, extended trauma from sexual assaults, & people losing their ability to live full lives, all they care about is the fetus’ “life” as if any fetus is aware they’re a living thing, i don’t think abortion is something that’s “good” because it can be a very tragic & difficult thing to have to do but the woman who already exists should be prioritized, especially since i’m going to assume a great majority of abortions are performed out of concern for the future life of the potential child or the mother’s wellbeing, i’ve heard they may ban abortions for ectopic pregnancies, in that case, BOTH mother & baby will die, it’s literally pointless, it’s sick
