Why do people care sooo much about her personal life like that? Like constantly fact checking and peer reviewing everything she's ever said and done... who gives a fuck if things aren't adding up.

I've shared this before but there is this comment from someone who was an intern at 5 Points back in 2008, and a lot of what Lana is saying is adding up with this comment.

I'm just gonna throw my 2 cents about her lying about getting any work done to her face and leave: no one (I mean in general) was admitting getting work done 10, 20 years ago. I vividly remember a random magazine comparing lana to adele saying how much lana was worse than adele because she had lip fillers... during that time lip fillers still weren't a trend and seen like a joke of course it's stupid to lie about such things because we all have eyes and we're not stupid enough to believe someone's face will just change out of thin air, but the media/society was and still is fucking cruel about women's appearences. she was getting bashed and her music criticized because of fillers, her dad's income and the infamous SNL performance all at once. that being said, at least she's now comfortable enough to not hide it, as she recently took a selfie with the doctor who gives her fillers

I think part of the problem is that a lot of people don't realise that one of the differences between being rich and being poor, is that if you're rich, you're always rich, but if you're poor/not rich, then some months you'll have money, and some months you won't have any money, so if you aren't taught how to handle your spending (which unfortunately is extremely common among those lower than upper-middle-class), when you have any money, there's a good chance you're spending it on things/experiences that someone looking on and judging you might assess as being frivolous. Every part of Lana's story checks out if you remember that she grew up in the 80s/90s, not the 1930s (when poor meant you never had anything).

I've been a stan since day 1, and this is to me the least interesting aspect about her story. I can't believe people have trashed her so bad for this, when there's countless nepobabies and millionaires easily making it in the industry.

once again my opinion is the unpopular one the more I listen the more I like it. the production reminds me of bb and tunnel, like something between black bathing suit and sweet. holly and lana have really similar techniques even within this song, like the warbling/meandering vocal style some mentioned, but their tones are different enough that they compliment each other really well. I’m getting less Disney and more ghibli honestly but that could just be me overall good collab I will be streaming

The song is beautiful! The melody of the verses reminds me of a classic Disney princess song, and the chorus melody is lovely as well. The whole song is quite nostalgic in a way. It’s quite fitting for the colder seasons approaching us. I’ve been following Holly’s music since Lana first mentioned her in an interview some years back, and I really like her voice. It’s so unique. It complements Lana’s very nicely x

People are so fixated on the domain names but If people took the time to actually read the "sources" they keep posting, they would see from the interview with Rob that domain names were way more expensive than they are now and along with the real estate, he was making insanely huge investments with no promise that they would pay off. It's very possible that her parents were middle class and could have been comfortable under different circumstances, but had no assets and had all of their money tied up in these insane investments (probably why there's so much emphasis on the arguments). It's not hard to believe at all that he had a decent job in the city, moved to Lake Placid (which wasn't the cushy place it is now, another moot point people are trying to make), blew all of their money on investments and lived below their means because of that, and started reaping the benefits after Lana was at Kent (meaning she never saw a dime). Also I just want to point out that at my parents poorest, they were bankrupt, getting food from soup kitchens, and almost lost the house multiple times. But still paid for me to go on a school trip to Europe and sent me to a VERY expensive private university in NYC. I had scholarships and financial aid, but that's exactly my point. It's not impossible. And also maybe speaks to how even poor people handle their money and use what little of it they have. I don't think the things people are posting to prove Lana is lying hold any real weight. There's way more nuance to this than people want to act like there is. As far as her saying her parents didn't know she was singing until SNL, I think she meant to the extent that she was. Knowing your daughter as Lizzy Grant performing in bars is different than knowing about publishing deals and the Lana Del Rey persona from the BTD era. Idk why her nose is being brought up, but girly clearly got her nose and lips done with that $10k advance, and being dishonest about plastic surgery (ESPECIALLY in 2012) is much different than fabricating your entire childhood and upbringing. I feel like there's no way any real fan would claim the trailer park era was for funsies (not even gonna elaborate because iykyk) and I find it so strange that she took the time to make that video because she was so frustrated about being misunderstood, and her own "fans" are straight up calling her a liar and are going to weirdo lengths to try and prove it.

i've said something along these lines before but this fanbase is so miserable, like its the same thing every time she releases anything that's not AG_PC_beat_v426 because some of you see her as a vessel for his production and not an actual artist herself. Anyways I like the song, i'm a sucker for a piano house beat and I really like Sam's ad-libs in the final chorus, but my one critique is that the song itself feels pieced together and a little choppy,. like the struggled to get the first chorus, post chorus, and sam's verse to flow right. I hope it gets the remix treatment I'd like to hear what some DJs could do with it.

Lana should write a book and tell her story in her own words. She already told us through her poetry but some of her fans still accuse her of lying. We don't know her personal life. We cannot make opinions based on some pics from her lizzy grant era or whatever.

It was a cute moment song. Kinda boring not gonna lie. But definitely not a bad song. Also a cute friendship moment for both. Holly's vocals kinda reminded me of Lana's old vocals, also the vocals in Wildflower, her vocals also reminded me of Stevie Nicks. The song kinda reminded me of Beautiful People Beautiful Problems and Snow On The Beach, but like less powerful but more quieter and cozier.

I actually really liked the song, it's sad and melancholic. Lana's voice when she does the melancholic sound is something special. The lyrics are beautiful, relatable, and perfect for long winter drives thinking about your life, and what could have been, and what will be I like Holly's voice, but I agree that her dictation is slightly off. It's got a bit too much of a slurred "drawl" for me. I think with a little more time she could truly blossom. Lana's voice is just incredible. Lately her sound is so rich and layered, gentle and caramel-y, full of life, and love, and loss. Their harmonies are gorgeous, and the moment at 3:09 is the perfect ending. I just wish the song was a bit longer, honestly. Suburban House is probably my favorite recent feature ... besides Buddy's Rendezvous which is one of my favourite Lana covers/features ever
