Um. Pretty sure BB was released after the submission deadline. Besides BB is Grammy material.

she thought she was gonna copy NFR and get the same recognition lana did for that album. lol

honestly at least it's not just us saying these nominations are wack. whole world is confused

Wait… I just learned L*rde was actually eligible, she just didn’t receive a single nomination. Maybe the Grammy committee is smart after all!! I bet she thought she really did something and would have critics fawning over her and AOTY in the bag I’m laughing

i don't think it matters what kind of album lana releases, i don't think she'll ever win a grammy because they don't seem to care about her/she isn't buying them, at this point it's so obvious that they don't care about artistry & talent, it's all about money & commercial success, which is pretty sad if you think about it, lana does submit her albums, she submits them in the alternative categories, but the grammys place them in the pop categories, which is pretty bullshit in my opinion, at the end of the day, we'd all love to see lana succeed & be recognized for her talent, but she certainly doesn't need a grammy for that

Honeymoon - Chemtrails - Blue Banisters Here's a pic of all of them together! I don't have the red version of BTD but it'd be cool to see that one too I've put in the spoiler tag how they look in front of a light

The only Grammy that would matter to me would be a Lifetime Achievement Award, somewhere down the line. Other than that, the Grammy’s are just not that relevant anymore, with the whole music industry that completely morphed since a couple of years, and this year’s noms show that they don’t know how to fit anymore with all of those changes.

lately i've actually really been looking forward to lana's passive aggressive comments 20 years from now when they finally give her a grammy scammy for any random album to make up for all the years they snubbed her. we should start making bingo sheets for our predictions.

Does anyone else get literal satanic energy from all of this

I think the only one for me would be Fine China. Lyrically, I feel like it’s probably one of her most timeless songs, she could release it at age 27, age 37, or age 57 and it would still sound like it was written during these different phases of her life. The version that leaked also has the label “Rough Old Keys” and is audibly not final, so there’s definitely a final version that I know sounds just gorgeous. We know it was considered for Blue Banisters, so I’d love to see it appear on a future record (and how the context of its appearance on that record affects listening to it).

probably valley of the dolls, it's a really nice song with a lot of potential, i don't really care for the idea of lana releasing leaked songs (especially after blue banisters, honestly) but i feel like a reworked, finished version of valley of the dolls would be really nice!

honestly i'm glad she wasn't nominated, fuck the grammys

your right, it didn't qualify. people are confused. but also BB isn't going to be nominated bc all the grammys cares about is mainstream popularity

istg you can’t even ask a simple question without people thinking you’re stressing lana I WAS JUST ASKING

Valley of the Dolls It could be longer and maybe have some more clear production/mixing. I love the melody and the music itself though, so I wouldn't want any tampering on that part

A month later this song remains a highlight of Blue Banisters and an absolutely monumental track in her discography

“Grammy snubmissions 2022” is what the thread title should really be.

I love miss Lana but she needs to get her sh!t together. She’s a popstar, not a country singer lol. She has fans and deals. Her arm is tired? Okay, next time she should start signing them earlier. I don’t care how rude this sound I’m tired. I wasn’t this angry since the european tour was cancelled less than 24 hours before the first UK show. I didn’t even want to buy the CD, who buys CDs in 2021??? I hope she’s reading this. We f*king bought her signed stuff and now we want them. That’s it. Not that deep. Anyway I hope our signed cards arrive (as they should).

Hello, nothing new here, just your daily reminder that Justin Bieber got 8 (EIGHT) Grammy nominations and Lana 0. Also an exclusive pic of the Grammy jury down here

we’ll get a homemade one 2 years from now in the same fashion as this one except it’ll be for Beautiful and will feature her painting a canvas blue & hanging it on her wall

I did not see a thread for this so sorry if one already exists. Personally, I really want Other Woman reworked with real instruments. It's a great and powerful story of adultery. I also want to see a full, reworked versions of Lift Your Eyes that sounds like Honeymoon's trap influence. Lastly I want her to somehow rework Daytona Meth, in whichever way she could lol.

still hoping we get an evermore long pond studio sessions album, maybe as a part of her grammy campaign or something. her doing an all too well long pond studios thing made me think there’s still a possibility. she confirmed she was gonna do it around the time evermore got released so let’s hope she actually will lol. the 1 year anniversary’s coming up, seems like a perfect time to release it tbh.

no confirmation on this but i’m pretty sure jack has a finished version of it somewhere if lana released an album purely of UV outtakes (maybe honeymoon too depending on which stage of production they were recorded at; eg. first few sessions), with like 50% leaked and 50% unleaked i could die happy

This is a great thread idea! I'm surprised one didn't already exist. Lana has so many amazing unreleased songs and if I had to pick a few for her to rework I think I'd like: - Angels Forever, Forever Angels - Fine China - Yes to Heaven - Your Girl (I know some of these songs have been reworked before for other albums already, but none have been released) I would also like for some of the BTD outtakes to be reworked, but I don't think that would ever even be possible seeing how different they are from what Lana is doing now with her art. They'd have to be changed completely for it to work lol

I'm one of those people that doesn't really want rereleases of old songs despite being an unreleased Lana lover. However, I think reworking some May Jailer material or even songs we know of but haven't heard yet could be cool

GUYS IM CONFUSED AF AND CRYING MY EYES OUT a couple of weeks ago the german store told me the signed cards will ship beginning of december and last week i asked them if that’s still the case or if they have any other information and they responded today with: Actually, the card should have reached you already. If the card has not arrived, we unfortunately only have the option to offer you a full refund. IDK WHAT TO DO OR THINK THIS IS MY 13TH REASON

The Grammy from my fathers side passed away years ago. My mother was adopted and I never met her parents. My sister did an ancestry search and found our real Grammy. She too passed away years ago. (I'm 65) Remember Grammy, God loves you, Lana loves you and I love you.

The Grammies have been dead to me since 1989, when they finally introduced a heavy rock/metal category (about 20 years too late), only to give it to Jethro Tull (who are heavy rock/metal in the same way Adele is hip hop). Nothing that's happened since has changed my mind.

I never really thought anything of flamingos in my life before Lana's music, but now they instantly remind me of her (and Lizzy). My phone case literally has pink flamingos on it. They're beautiful creatures tbh

I still love the idea of an IYLDWM video with Father John Misty. Full circle from Ultraviolence/Freak Don't think that will be happening though A little visual for Cherry Blossom with her on that swing in her yard would be so cute as well

She taught me to sense the world around me a lot more intensely. Like how she just describes being at home with your love, doing nothing special, just playing video games as something really romantic and meaningful. Or as somebody already said, little things like Diet Mountain Dew etc. So just appreciating the little everyday things. This summer I was at home working and it was late afternoon, the sun rays came through my window and felt really warm and one of my neighbors was working on his car and listening to a mix of classical music and jazz. That was such a Lana-moment to me. So yeah, sensing the everyday world around me and how atmospheric it can be is definitely something her lyrics taught me.
