i can't believe i'm saying this but this is lowkey her best album... like fr norman was like something made to love and this one is MUCH heavier but... it's so fucking good and risky and lyrically she's fucking killing it every time i'm listening to it i'm having new fav tracks and i'm finding something new i love about her vocals, production and lyrics AND the way so many people (including me obv) were starting this album being unsure about if it's good or not and over next few days i'm seeing so many of them changing their minds like i just feel like this album is out of its world it's not an everyday album like norman was for sure but this is actually kinda why it's even better... if you know you KNOW

the hypocrisy in that comment is insane. making a homage video to her is disrespectful, but typing out the vile details of her corpses asshole in an instagram comment section is ok. lol.

Kintsugi might take the #1 spot as my favourite lana song ever. I cry every single time I listen to the track. It says all the things I could never put into words and the meaning behind it is just so beautiful. Our hearts will break but that’s how the light gets in to make us full again.

i'm not so sure i've got anything of an epiphany to say about the record but imma just gush. there's this elusive sort of appeal to it that i can't and more so don't really want to pinpoint and name at the moment. it's been so entrancing, and the high contrasts between the sound of cool air'd vocals to the heaviness of the subject matter, the difference of temperatures between the sound of flight, and the bellows of wanting to forget and choosing what to hold onto. the album's just so inter-spatial and fulfilling, liberating as well to many extents. graceful, but still earthy, or something i'd attribute to an underwater pocket of an island protected by the sea. maybe i've always taken to heart what my star signs are, but the imagery, and flowing of water thru this record, the complexity of emotions and their necessity's just incredibly pristine. to the sharpness of what sounds like wind karate-chopping a space, and the warmth of reverbs and pulsing beats- this album's like a beautiful living dance of what it means to surmount struggle, and the genius in finding the beauty in it. like falling in love under a thunderstorm, or taking the right steps and finding comfort in keeping course. it's not something i'd like to analyze to bits, but it's honestly just perfect to me. thank u Lana. consider me inspired, this album's like sunlight christening you from an opened window.

there's something about when a singer who has been known for sad and melancholy lyrics for over a decade now sings "that's how the light shines in"

so i complained to amazon about the vinyl colour and at first they offered me $5 off my next order and i was like no that's not acceptable so they gave me a full refund! the best part is i don't even dislike the colour of the vinyl sometimes it pays to be a karen

Kintsugi through to Grandfather is so cohesive, my fav track run. Especially Paris flowing from Fingertips and then into Grandfather. Those sample melodies are stunning back to back. Paris Texas has grown the most for me, at first i didn't like it but after a few listens i finally get it, it's a very enticing track

Hoodie box is here. The box is actually really nice, it's nothing like the cheap t-shirt box at all. Sturdy cardboard, the exterior feels nice... it's as durable as the boxsets for her past CD boxsets! The hoodie is very nice, it's super soft and the printing looks very clear. It's definitely big though, as well as long. I would've bought a size smaller if I had been trying this on in a store but it's not the end of the world, it's just a bit baggy. I put all my Lana CDs and cassettes in the box to give an idea of how big it is. Also interesting is the box says RIOPY on the cover unlike the actual vinyl/cd covers... I think that's a sign all the future vinyl pressings will be the same

This album is so compelling. It's impossible to have it as background music, the lyrics are so interesting, and so are the melodies... there are many moments where you just can't not pay attention to the music... The Grants outro, "fuck me to death", "basic bitch", A&W transition, Candy Necklace and its freaky piano... there's a lot going on.

I refuse to watch Anthony Fantano, he and his like-minded pretentious incel fans who roam sites like RYM/AOTY need to be eradicated from this planet

“I miss old Lana” Sweetie, then go listen to old Lana, who is stopping you? The albums still exist, they haven’t vanished. Literally BTD to NFR is “old skool” Lana. That’s 6 albums worth of music. Some peoples entire careers consists of 6 albums. She has more than enough content for all types of fans.

I'm shocked at how amazing this album is It's not as easy to listen to as NFR but wow it's such a work of art with such depth and I think it's the first time an album makes me appreciate the singles way more

I really disagree with the notion that the last three tracks are to “add some bops” or that they were something for the fans, im not really one to think Lana is a complete genius in everything she does and that everything she does is intentional, but I feel like its very obvious that putting three “bop” tracks at the end is an intentional way to show her moving on and being more carefree

Btw why were reddit stans bitching about the Judah interlude and cancelling their vinyl orders when its the first track on Side B and they'd have to flip the vinyl anyways after A&W so it's no extra hassle to skip just randomly came to mind Anyways, i have not stopped listening to and enjoying the record. Fishtail still the weakest for me ngl Kintsugi, Grandfather and LTLI current obsessions

The more I listen to the album front to back, and picture the tunnel metaphor, the more that the last 3 tracks do already kind of feel like bonus tracks. I, unexpectedly, agree with Fantano that "Margaret" sort of feels like a closer track--and I think both "Sweet" and "Margaret" are the lights at the respective end of each tunnel. But I do agree that the last 3 tracks may be a hint of the direction that LDRX is heading, and I'm incredibly excited for that

You could look at it that way if you want cuz it kinda works, but I’m very positive Lana is not encouraging people to off themselves lmao Just seems like a simple song explaining if you feel like you don’t fit in where you are anymore or there’s nothing left for you to do there, it’s time to explore and move on and find a better place for yourself where you can thrive. It’s very nomadic, that’s why she mentions all those different places. Kinda seems like Ride’s little sister

I just thought it'd be fun to see how well the album did across the world. We know Lana landed another #1 on the UK album charts. This was the 6th time for her, and the album was also the fastest selling record so far this year! The UK charts also states: Here in Sweden, the album got a 2nd spot on the most selling vinyls and most sold physical copies, (just behind Depeche Mode), and a 6th place on the most bought and streamed albums. What did it look like in your own countries?
