After the mixing is done , comes the mastering , think of it as the final EQ settings . Most of the times a master is better for the ears and everything is balanced but at other times ( taco truck x VB ) the unmastered versions sounds uncompressed with more rich details .

I'm sorry, maybe we have different interpretations of that word, but none of these songs are remotely 'medieval' to me except Dragon's Blood The album was always based off death and past life regression sort of stuff, which you can hear in the older material before anything leaked: Death, Void, Corpse, etc. Puzzles which you mentioned even includes the line "I remember this moment from a past life". Not to mention Womb (originally recorded during After School sessions, as an idea for Melanie's then-upcoming album) is from early 2020—she began teasing 'Somewhere Between Life and Death' on Instagram that same year.

This actually isn't true! 'Medieval Dynasty' was never a real thing, it was made up by fans when Dragon's Blood was the only MM3 (Portals) leak. The title Portals was even foreshadowed at the ending of the K-12 film, she had the concept planned for a long while. Also you do realise Garden is probably an Oliver Tree diss track too, right? lol

I’m all for something ethereal and psychedelic and basssss. Something to transcend to and travel to a different dimension I really really loved the jon batiste tracks, so more of that would be a win for me

I don’t think grunge music was ever in the discussion initially she made a straight up punk album in Sweden of short songs 1-3 minutes long- then she tried to merge it into pop with some bratty ye ye pop influences which again was scrapped(bar need ur luv) - then the album was in limbo with reported label meddling and then we have sucker which is overall half pop and half pop rock. I do think it’s interesting that she did or still does hate break the rules though considering it’s one of the more faithful songs to the concept on there- it sounds like if aviici produced smells like teen spirit
