nfr as a pre release era was horrific im so sorry... especially when you compare it to honeymoon with gorgeous visuals or lfl where she was fun and active. her 'baddie l.a' era just came across as not giving a shit (which im doubtful she did tbh). everything from the lacklustre visuals to her lying through her teeth at every given opportunity was just so tiresome. that coupled with the year of my life i lost waiting for it just left the album bottom of the list for me and i never listen to it anymore (i even reach for chemtrails every now and again lol). in the words of lord del rey herself, 'if everybody likes it maybe it’s not that good'. i'm content with what we have at the moment, because we got two solid albums last year (blue banisters being my 3rd favourite of hers) and we recently got a couple of singles. i'd rather she waits a while for some more inspiration than rush into releasing another album, which she seems to be doing.

The problem is, we don't know yet how the menu looks like and where the restaurant is.

i really liked the aesthetic and the blue vibes it has, she probably already deleted that from her phone tho

I agree with this unfortunately… it’s almost like the “hyper-pop” movement was squashed overnight and it’s really upsetting to me honestly. It was so much fun for so long. Got me through some shit. …NOT by being all sad boy/emo but through celebration of differences, and having fun with it, and vibing as high as possible and forgetting about your troubles just for the moment, rather than “I’m so different wah wah someone notice me.” There’s a huge shift in who that music is going to appeal to, even if some elements carry over.

It lost a lot of it's appeal once 1000 gecs got released and every f@g decided they were gonna make hyperpop by pitching their vocals while screaming over distorted, bass boosted electronic beats Then the rest of its appeal got lost once SOPHIE, the pioneer of hyperpop imo, died So yeah... hyperpop is pretty much dead or on the verge of dying imo

Maybe that’s what it was originally for, yes. I have a feeling the videos she shoots without lip synching are the ones she usually reconsiders for a different purpose. I know this may be another conspiracy theory of mine but did no one else notice how perfectly the Shades of Cool video matches the lyrics of Cola? The whole story about being the mistress/side chick of an older guy. The pool scenes with her eating strawberries, the sleeping beauty scenes with the blooming flowers (imagery she used for the Cola backdrop as well) along with the black & white scenes from the West Coast video (the Cola backdrop used stormy palm trees before showing the arrival of spring with the blooming flowers). In my mind, she repurposed the mood board/concepts she had in mind for Cola (and we know damn well she wanted it as a single with a video) for West Coast/Shades of Cool.

I don't think Lana is very good at putting together outfits tbh Chuck was right when she said that. Her street style was great from 2012-14, basically everytime she stepped out so I could probably choose every single photo from back then. After that we got the occasional good look. Least favorite without a doubt: Plus the entire yoga pants mess from the NFR era

I also didn't really enjoy the NFR era, except the FIILY/TG mv. The visuals are so beautiful and really match the songs well. But the pre-release was just far too long. by the time the album was out I just wasn't hyped anymore. What I also just don't like are the dancers on stage. I think her shows were better without them. Also, the interviews weren't really that interesting because she talked about the exact same stuff in every-single-one. To be fair, she was also asked the same questions all the time "So tell us about working with Jack Antonoff" it was so amazing to be able to listen to that story about ten thousand times...

Didn't some insider say it was an album trailer or something like that? I think it was boz. The hair is the same as the LMLYLAW performance and the set also looks similar so I guess she recorded a bunch of stuff there that day She's not lip synching so maybe she recorded random footage to eventually use for something. Sad that it's not coming out cause it looked very pretty
