25 likesshe doesn’t owe us her attention, especially considering the fact that she is so successful and popular to the point where she gets millions of streams each day on an album that was released over a decade ago, and gets more streams than dua lipa and doja cat, she works very hard, she’s constantly recording and gave us two albums last year, and if she was ready to announce anything or give us news/information, she would, but she’s not so obviously she’s not ready to

19 likesShe's back at her mysterious self indeed and I love it she's big enough that she doesn't need to lift a finger in order to be relevant. It's enough to just be Lana Del Rey.

13 likesHi, I was baptized an insider today by the power of God invested in me, so here are the lyrics to SOTB: You were like snow on the beach I was like a candle in the wind How on earth we were supposed to meet Except melting on thedashboardofyourtruck Which made me feel like We could finally be free (bitch, bitch, fuck)

One - an accidental manifestation on how many albums she would end up releasing throughout her career 17 - how many decades she'll spend delaying Masochism Obsession - we're still obsessing over her despite the years of false hope/promises -
12 likesI personally love how reclusive she is during pre-release phases. It's refreshing! She is an artist. She puts her energy where it needs to go, into creating the album. She hasn't done big promotion since Born To Die, arguably UV/Honeymoon, depending on what you consider promotion. So I don't know why you guys still twiddle your fingers to make posts like this knowing how she is already.

11 likesSince the Rockefeller snippet, it’s been really dry indeed. But she did something I didn’t was possible in 2022: IMO, she regained her « mysterious » aura / persona that she had in her early career (switching to her HM account, posting freely and carelessly and not always in the purpose of an album).

10 likesYou don’t need a reason to enjoy a specific song or artist At the end of the day, no one will hear a song with the exact same life experiences you’ve had, the same musical exposure that’s shaped your taste and other personal criteria, etc. Enjoy the art that makes you happy regardless of whether others appreciate it (That being said, it’s really nice that we can all relate to one mutual interest/appreciation on this site.)

Music doesn’t have to be authentic, especially pop music. People are obsessed with the idea of the artist also being the writer and all that, but to me a song with like 16 writers isn’t less worthy artistically than a song with 1 writer. A movie can have a shit ton of people involved but at the end of the day the actors still gets praised, I don’t get why with music artists get bashed when their music’s very collaborative lol. Renaissance by Beyoncé comes to mind, what does it matter that it has all these people involved, it doesn’t make the album any less good and it doesn’t make Beyoncé any less of an artist tbh. -

9 likesI asked AI to write intro for 'Snow on the Beach' music video: It was a cold winter day and the snow was falling on the beach. The wind was blowing and the waves were crashing. It was a beautiful day. Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift were walking on the beach, enjoying the scenery. They were holding hands and laughing. They were happy together. Suddenly, they heard a noise in the distance. It sounded like someone was crying. They followed the noise and saw a little girl sitting on the sand, crying her eyes out. Her clothes were wet and she was shivering. Lana and Taylor went to her and asked what was wrong. The little girl said that her mom had died and she didn't know what to do. Lana and Taylor hugged her and promised to help her. They took her back to their place and dried her off. They gave her some hot chocolate and a blanket to keep warm. Then they called the police to help find her dad. The little girl was safe now, but she would never forget what happened on that cold winter day on the beach. It's giving 2014 tumblr

7 likesi mostly agree when it's a single song on an album but i do loveee a full-fledged collaborative album that's actually a challenging exercise in creativity - they tend to result in something way more interesting/surprising and genre-defying/blurring

Collabs are usually bad and mostly it's just business, though artists act like they're working together because they're ~*best friends*~ ... Oh please. Especially when one is more popular than the other one, we all know what's up. Artists are always better on their own, I have never ever listened to a collab thinking "thank god they sang this together". It's never fully one artist or the other, especially when both wrote their own part of the song. Hence, collabs are never "proper songs" to me?! I can't explain it but I just cannot take collabs as seriously as the songs an artist worked on alone. They're fun projects at most, but have never had a deep meaning to/impact on me. Collabs on albums always feel like a disruption of the flow to me. Relating to this, rap parts in pop songs are annyoing most of the time. -

sky has been one of my favorite artists for years and ntmt is probably my number one album so i’m pissed at the way her career is turning out, but is it really that deep? like yes it’s annoying as fuck that she never stays true to her word and constantly lets her fans down but does that justify calling her a dumb ungrateful bitch who deserves to rot in hell? or saying we should “bury this bitch into oblivion”? literally just move on and let sky destroy her own career if she’s never gonna keep her promises, attacking her like that isn’t necessary -
6 likesI personally love that she’s not posting a bunch of snippets so that by the time the album comes out, none of the material feels fresh anymore. I also love not getting false release dates. Like others above said, I love that she’s being mysterious again like she used to be; that was part of her allure to me, never knowing what she was going to do next and not knowing what to expect by the time I clicked play on track one of a new record. For example, for me, hearing Cruel World for the first time on release night was a time I will NEVER forget. Absolutely magical.
