All these years and Electra Heart hasn’t aged a day... that’s power. I think Valley Of The Dolls and Lonely Hearts Club are some of my favorite songs of all time -
9 likesMarina truly is one of the best artists out there. I feel like people forget it cause of L+F, but look at the material in her first 3 albums. Classic after classic after classic.

4 likesI saw Lana's tweet about how hot it has been. The heat in LA has been really bad. My sister lives in Woodland Hills and it was 111 degrees where she is. She tells me that going outside was next to impossible it was so bad. I saw on IG that Lana was doing some volunteer work yesterday in LA in the heat. Bless her for her generosity and giving back to the community.

what even is this post about? dua lipa actually charts and her music is more commercial and has more potential to smash, unlike lana’s, who doesn’t care about sales and charts. also the comparison is pretty nonsense since they do different music and have different sounds, they’re not comparable. also ever thought about the fact that maybe lana is the one refusing to promote her music? lmao -

-
3 likesi think it might be her cowriting with jack which made the songs feel less lana as lana writing with rick probably comes very natural to her, and with others like emile they didn't really change a lot about the lyrics of the songs they worked on with her.

Taste. I don’t know why but MAC seems a little bit underrated to me, maybe because it was overshadowed by Venice Bitch grandeur, being released just a week before it! Both are great songs, tho! -
3 likesi have a theory that part of the themes and lyricism in NFR was kind of an experiment to test critics/the general public. I don’t think that it felt totally authentic to her (obviously there is a grain of truth in everything she says/does, but in this case it kind of felt forced, like the smile on the LFL cover), and to me her insta debacle confirmed this. not saying she doesn’t fully stand behind everything she wrote, I just don’t think it’s her natural way of thinking about things so it didn’t feel very passionate to me, which is something I always look forward to in her music. i think that’s why she didn’t sing too many of the new songs on tour either, although not to drag her it didn’t seem like she enjoyed singing many of her songs at all lmfao

3 likesBruce Springsteen played Lana again on his SiriusXM channel the other day. Bruce had more praise for Lana. The other day he said the following; “That is ‘American,’ by the lovely Lana Del Rey. She’s, uh, name checking some guy from New Jersey in there. I’m not sure who, but … uh, she is from New York, and was raised in Lake Placid. Lake Placid, a fabulous little American town where I have spent many a lovely summer evening with my children and my family over the years. And Lana is simply one of the best songwriters in the country, as we speak. She just creates a world of her own and invites you in. So a big favorite of mine, the lovely Lana Del Rey.“ To have this kind of praise from a legend such as Springsteen is a huge honor as I have said before. Woody Guthrie inspired the likes of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. Dylan and Springsteen inspired Lana. Lana's folks roots can be experienced in all of her songs whether they feel folky or not. Regardless of what the critics say, Lana having the support of legends in this business such as Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Stevie Nicks etc matters a lot. Lets remember that much like Lana, when Bruce came on the scene he wasn't taken seriously at first. The critics didn't understand him and they wrote him off. Well, we all saw how that worked out. Lana has every reason to believe in herself and to always be reaching for the stars. She is this generation's greatest musical storyteller.

Agree. It’s for charli and huck to know only, plus that just makes charlis music extra personal for the two of them. Almost like a testament of their relationship progress! -

Really looking forward to her 5th album. She's writing it alone and using only 1 (female) producer this time The last snippet she shared sounds amazing, hopefully we'll get new music by the end of next year lol -

A lot of rare/unseen pictures from Marina's Myspace and The Family Jewels eras (2006-2010): https://mega.nz/file/sIFAEKKa#VYiN3R_T1LBrA5-8rcHe-_O2WjY1fgK9cmLMEBpldHM -
3 likesSo its become hard for me to listen to Sportcruiser. The entire first part in the studio apartment with yellow petals as their view. Terrible you, which was unfortunately me in my situation. Its alot to take in in a moment of introspection, one I don't want to make cus i know I sucked, and I honestly thank God it becomes a more specific tale to who she is and what her fears are. I adore Violet and its such a great listen and I usually refuse to skip tracks, yet Sportcruiser drains the happiness from me, even though i can never help but smile when she's so taken that no one on the dock cares who she is. Its the albums masterpiece, but if im just trying to vibe it seems it may have to become a skip. The most affecting piece she has ever written and it turns out I literally wasn't prepared for it.

3 likesWell, good news about the old likes, guys! As the site has continued to reindex, the prior likes have started to come back. We still have a long way to go with reindexing everything, but if you poke into a few of the older threads, the previous likes are now viewable for the posts that have finished indexing reputation points. & @evilentity it looks like all your old formatting has begun to fix itself as well, just had to give the site a little time to reindex and rebuild I suppose! x

She has Dan Auerbach producing her music and Neil Krug photographing her and the project is fucking amazing. I guess those two are the formula. -
