18 likesThere's definitely some nostalgia factor with unreleased tracks that causes them to get praised disproportionately. I've seen someone claim that Earthquakes is better than A&W. If it was the other way around and Lana would have released Earthquakes and A&W was the unreleased one then this forum would have a meltdown about how Lana is always "stripping back" her instrumentals.

16 likesSomething else I found from awhile back, forgot to post it here. I'm sure some other people were already aware but I've never seen it discussed. Her "lanadelreynevadaalbum" SoundCloud account, created in March 2010 and it uses the same profile picture she had on Last.fm: There were seven public tracks still available for streaming in May 2011, but they were all taken down by ~September 2011. Fun fact: Each song (except Kill Kill) had a unique cover art, and all were uploaded on March 22nd, 2010 Maybe you'd find this cool @Surf Noir

16 likesI think this is an album written for herself and those who are truly invested in her story, like us, and it just so happens that the bops are undeniable and she's in a bigger light than she ever really has been before so all the casuals are giving a listen or two. We should be shocked THIS album is doing this well. A&W is an unmatched all timer from her, but the majority of this album has no business being as streamed as it is, especially Paris, Texas growing as an organic hit. The masses truly found some taste this year but we're just lucky we stan an artist who is still pushing herself and absolutely has more to give 9/10 albums in.

15 likesI feel like the best idea would be like an EP for each era with people's/Lana's favourite songs from that time period... like on the album's birthday's (UV 10th for example) 1. God Bless America - EP 2. Melancholia - EP 3. Crazy for You - EP 4. Best American Record - EP something among this although this is VERY unrealistic

12 likesI don’t want to here one negative thing about Say Yes To Heaven because this is truly an iconic moment. Like idgaf if you think it is a basic bitch song, soak in this rare iconic moment for what it is and I don’t even care about Say Yes To Heaven but I can still appreciate that it is getting an official release

12 likesI think the otherwise. NFR and COCC have a connection. NFR first starts out as an ode to LA, but she feels burnout towards the end of the album (The Greatest). COCC is about leaving LA, escapism, going to ranch, finding comfort with friends and families (Dance Till We Die). Between two albums we had Looking for America (in terms of recording time), which connects the two album perfectly. BB and OB have a connection: BB starts with theme she left at COCC, but then the theme is mostly "I'm this, don't change me" (Arcadia,BBS,Violets and Roses, Beautiful etc.). She explains why she is like this opening up things she had never before (Textbook, WFWF etc.). The album ends with her sister having a baby. Then OB adds to this, she starts with the family theme she left at BB and opens up more about why she is like this (Fingertips).

11 likesOh, I guess it’s important to mention this. Even though we don’t have a release date, it is very likely that SYTH will be getting a release. I spoke with Elle regarding SYTH and if what to do if anymore demos would leak. Demos of the song can be posted, but if the version is 3:22 long, please refrain from posting it. Those who post this 3:22 version on LanaBoards may be banned. And if anyone posts a supposed, but fake snippet asking if that snippet is the new version, a warning and a mod queue will be issued. A ban will be issued if the snippet turns out to be real.

10 likesMany artists have released anthology albums and material with outtakes in the past. It’s not exactly a new concept. However, with Lana it’s the case that she is missing out on a lot of revenue, money and recognition. Her leaked material has viral potential. It could elevate her popularity a lot and she would get more streams = more money. There is absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t do it.

10 likesi’m sorry but i really don’t think this is the follow-up to nfr… in my opinion 1) they’re really different as this one is so much more inspired, experimental, it is miles ahead in terms of lyrical content and variety. i get that nfr is much more liked than chemtrails or blue banisters but 2) objectively this album is much more a continuation of blue banisters than of nfr. the reasons for this are the piano ballads which sound much more like blue banisters than nfr (vocally and production wise), the family themes, the introspection, the multiple references to her past, the somewhat political lines, the allusions to the critics, this is all reminiscent of blue banisters and not of nfr. honestly it doesn’t make sense to erase chemtrails and blue banisters just because they’re disliked when this record is in many ways a continuation of blue banisters and in no way a continuation of nfr, whether it be in terms of vocals, in terms of lyrics, in terms of production

Lowkey hoping XCX6 can be a XCX World 2.0 in the vein of it being the like party album we never got. Something fun, dancey and cute. -

9 likesLet's get spicy then! Two things-there are ALOT of times where Kintsugi is the ultimate skip. Its fucking SAD. It's the saddest song she's ever done. Her lower register, that we've known so long, so reflective yet plain, cruelly plain, about how it feels when someone is slipping/has passed away. It's a personal hell that you can't help but sob. The "Daddy I miss them" portion is just evil ( and Yes Fingertips has shockingly tragic lyrics but they're so specific that it's clearly ONLY about her life, and the beautiful arrangement and her high notes make that song sing much more to me than Kintsugi) 2. The "Wipeout" section of Peppers is just as epic as the A&W transition and is easily, Easily the most fun I've ever had with a Lana song. That shits so fucking groovy baby! Ugh the second half of Peppers is just pure joy and fun in the sun and it will be murdered by the replay button this summer. *edit* none of these takes are that hot but let's hear the takes sistrens, we've been in post release for over 2 weeks!

8 likesDon't see why this needs to have its own thread on here, I don't think either of them care about charts or streams— but congrats to both on achieving such huge milestones! I love watching talented women succeed

8 likesI would be so happy with a 20-30 track unreleased compilation but at the same time I would hate to see unreleased tracks from all different eras being messily put onto a compilation. My dream would be little B side collections for each album/era so things are kept in some kind of order, but at this point I’m happy with anything. re-release AKA, give us a 30 track unreleased collection, and give us a UV ultra deluxe 10th anniversary collection next year with 15 b-sides thank you QUEEN!
