Not saying she’s like Taylor Swift with Easter eggs, but what if that demo was a clue about an unreleased album she was working on after Ocean Blvd? She dropped Say Yes to Heaven a couple of months later, and her team even sent out polls asking fans to vote on their favorite unreleased songs. I think BoZ hinted there was more to come if SYTH did well—so if that was the plan, I wonder what changed behind the scenes. It seems like there have been a TON of projects teased or hinted at post Ocean Blvd but things are just stagnant. She spent a lot of 2024 touring so maybe there just wasn’t time or logistics on her side?

I've been thinking about her releasing more unreleased songs too. Seems like she had a lot of plans. When she announced lasso, she was really excited about this project, but then she saw all these comments saying, that "we don't want country Lana", plus she said herself in one of the interviews that when she announced lasso everyone was silent about it.

 

So I think she absolutely liked lasso concept/visuals/sound, but fans/critics behavior and feedback made her start thinking of changing this project, that's why it took so much time.  

 

I think the same time period she was thinking about releasing album of unreleased songs, but the fact that people refused to accept her idea of releasing a country album made her insecure about the need of releasing her unreleased.

 

Seems last year and now she's more involved in her tour, rehearsals and stuff related to it. That's another possible reason of why she decided to postpone new album again.

 

I just hope the next announcement we'll get will be the official one with preorder and vinyl variants. And let's pray for the single release these next two weeks🙏🐊

I want to theorize freely without being called crazy, but honestly call me. We have nothing so far so I have my reasons 

 

Single announcement theory:

I asked gpt, and he said that on the 29th there would be a partial solar eclipse:

"In astrology, solar eclipses are associated with new beginnings and transformations."

 

which could symbolize the beginning of the TRPWS era, and a new beginning for her career and image (?)

 

"expected to bring significant personal growth, especially for the zodiac signs Aries, Leo, Libra, and Aquarius."

tho, Lana is Cancer. But still since she loves to release things according to astrological events and on days that match the energy, she couldve releasedsomething in Saturday, and announce on Friday.

So I guess maybe, just maybe, if she wants to release something, it could be on the 29th, announce it, and release it sometime after that. 

 

album and Future released theory

Following the theory of BethDufrene, about the last tracks indicating the direction of the next album, I feel that this album is something very experimental.

but I feel like this album might not be entirely country or classic, butt maybe like BTD, which wasn't entirely country but had certain influences (Vídeo Games, Born To Die, etc)

What I mean is that maybe she'll move between musical styles and create a new atmosphere with them, but probably just country-adjacent genres. moving from country to country hip hop/trip hop (just like tough, other examples in her discography r off the races, high by the beach and freak.), acoustic (Henry, I Must Be Stupid (?), Hey Blue Baby, Prettiest Girl) piano ballads (The mirror, RBFY) classic country (Stand By Your Man) 

few soul/funk, gospel, jazz , traditonal pop and country pop & rock.

I don't think she would care that much about presumably negative fan reaction to 'Country Lana' when her music doesn't really fall into any category to begin with--it's is not Alternative, it's not genuinely Pop by and large, it's not Rock--it's not Indie if that term is even used anymore---it's surely not Americana--she seemed to have a style and category all her own with BTD, but she surrendered that sound within 18 months--UV sounded nothing like BTD/P. 

 

By her own admission, Honeymoon was "more like the first two" (Freak, Art Deco, High By the Beach), and then LFL was a complete grabbag of various sounds and styles. She changed everything up again with the more intimate, low-key songs on NFR! and basically stayed in that mode for the next two albums. OB was another grabbag of sounds and styles a la LFL. 

 

With legends and respected musicians like Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, the Weeknd, Stevie Nicks, Joan Baez, Father John Misty, Taylor Swift, and Courtney Love praising her and saying publicly that they're anticipating her next release, I think it's unlikely that she'd take actual or imagined 'fan silence' too much to heart, especially when her stans know she's been referring to songs like Ride as 'essentially country' for years. 

 

I think it's more likely that she was personally unhappy with whatever the first iteration of Lasso was, and perhaps her label was as well, especially since she described the songs as less personal and broader in terms of lyrical focus.

 

So she went back to the drawing board and TRPWS resulted--which she's still promoting as something in a County mode via the Southern Gothic tag.  

 

When has Lana not been indecisive? It seems to be an ingrained part of her personality.

 

As I've mentioned, of all the artists I've followed religiously, none--0--have ever announced and then postponed albums or changed their announced titles, said things like "I don't know when it's coming out," etc. Lana is the only one. I've been used to it for several years now.  

 

Also--it's not as if her cover of Country Roads was strong (even Courtney Love criticized it)--some fans may have interpreted it as a sign of things to come on Lasso, and just decided to remain mum.
